Aim to Please

He slipped on his shoes and she handed over his lunch bag.

“I pulled a steak out of the freezer to thaw. I expect it to be made before I get home with a side of rice and zucchini.” The husband said glaring down at his battered wife.

She lifted her head. “May I kiss you for good luck on your promotion”

“I make my own luck.” He paused seeing the beauty of her face that concealed the truth. What a good girl to disclose what goes on in their dwelling even before him. “But, I could use a kiss.” He leaned his face forward. She pulled back.

“No. On your forehead.” She planted a kiss between his eyebrows.

Take two steps to the right.

Following orders, she did so and closed her eyes. He turned around, ready to leave. She heard a the sound of a wisp and felt warm prickles of liquid splattered across her face.
