I never thought I’d be making my own manga book cover illustrations but here they are! All starting with Weed in God’s Garden, the novella, drawing the two plants was so random. When I sat down at my desk, I thought, fuck it. Just draw two plants as good as you can with these makers and that’s when I feel in love with the entire aesthetic.

Chapters 3 and 4 are my favorite. These two chapters are when the faces of my characters started taking shape and sticking. However, the first two chapters will always have a special place in my heart as a reminder that I’m capable of pushing through awkwardness and serious acts that I will have to draw more of in the future.

I cant explain the joy that is of making book covers. I’m going to assume it comes from the same joy I receive when I create illustrations. To see a scene from my head, draw it in monochrome then see it in color is fascinating. It’s as if I’m watching a manifestation within my own mind come to reality. Sort of like with my crafts created from visions.

It’s pretty cool. I also enjoy using marker and colored pencils.
