Ugh! It’s going to be a while before my writer’s brain is fully back to what it once was before Covid, but I’ll give this exercise a shot. Gotta get the gears moving some way and mentally putting words together is oil. I don’t have a notebook full of metaphors. I recently discovered I need a reference packet for my visual stories. However I have one metaphor for a phase of life I’m currently in.
Social media feels like being on a rowboat at shore with two busted ores labeled Meta and the other Oracle (whoever the hell owns Tiktok). There’s people at shore telling me the best techniques to getting out at sea, but I’m not moving however which way and much force I put into the paddles. I’m better off swimming to the island of my dreams.
That’s all I have written down for now. Anytime a metaphor slips from my mouth and I catch it in the middle of dialogue, I’ll remember to write it down in my notebook.
