6 PM

5:56, Don pulls up into his driveway and sighs with relief. He made it on time before 6 p.m. Never did he imagine as an adult he’d have a curfew, but its now part of life and it maybe for the better.

5:57, he walks to the front door and suddenly hears a high-pitched terrible scream from a woman not to far from his house. It’s the kind of call for immediate help while being attacked. Don gulps nervously and scans his dimly lit surrounding for movement. Now is the worst time for something like this to be happening. The streetlights are turning on as well as the surveillance camera hooked up to them. Big brother is watching and penalty for a man caught outside past 6 p.m. is a four month stay in prison and a six hundred dollar fine.

5:58, Don hears the woman’s crackling holler once again. He feels a tug at his heart. It’s the natural urge to save a damsel in distress. However, given the current laws, is she worth saving? Why is she outside anyways when there are men out there who don’t care about the law. If anything, it fuels their desires for violence like a toddler being told not to eat a sweet piece of candy placed in front of them.

5:59, he opens the front door and prays for someone else to save her.

6:00 am Don watches the morning news while drinking a cup of coffee. Three men have been arrested for being outside past curfew. they were caught not to far from his house. Don checks the ReadMe online discussion board and gasp at a new warning broadcast. A woman wanders around at night calling out for help to lure men out of their homes. DO NOT TRUST HER. There’s an award for turning in a man who’s outside past 6 p.m.
